NVidia normal map plugin

The NVidia normal map plugin is a Photoshop plugin that can be used to converting height maps to normal maps.
For Gimp, a similiar plug named "Gimp normalmap plugin" exists.
The usage of both plugs is explained at the Texture_Creation_-_Basic_Tutorial article.
